This year, the Chrisley family will be returning to television, but on a new network, Lifetime. The Chrisleys Are Returning To Television
Chrisley Knows Best was a hit reality show for USA Network, running for 10 seasons from 2014 to 2023.
Following the incarceration of Todd and Julie Chrisley in 2022, the show was cancelled.
However, that was only the start of a new chapter in the Georga and Tennessee-based real estate mogul’s family.
Announcing the new yet-to-be-titled docuseries to People, Lifetime noted in its logline, “The Chrisleys don’t know best anymore, but they’re doing their best to be there for each other.”
According to Variety, the official synopsis for the new docuseries is as follows:
“The family faces the challenge of carrying on the Chrisley name and legacy on their own with only phone calls and brief visits with their incarcerated parents. While Savannah maintains custody of her younger siblings, Chloe and Grayson, she has been fighting tirelessly for a Presidential pardon to free her parents. Meanwhile, Chase is addressing some life struggles while building his new business and navigating his relationship with girlfriend Jodi.”
This synopsis was released prior to the Tuesday, May 27, announcement by President Donald Trump that Todd and Julie were receiving full pardons.
Savannah Chrisley’s New Role
“The moment the guilty verdict came down, everyone wiped their hands clean,” Savannah Chrisley, daughter to Todd and Julie, told People in February of the reaction from USA Network and others to her parents being incarcerated. “For the first year [of my parents being incarcerated], I had to prove myself … ‘I’m not going anywhere.’ I’m here to provide for not only myself but my family.”
After being charged in 2019, Todd was sentenced to 12 years in prison, with 16 months of probation, after being found guilty of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, tax fraud, and conspiracy to defraud the United States.
Similarly, Julie was sentenced to seven years in prison, having been convicted of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, tax fraud, and conspiracy to defraud the United States. Further, she also received wire fraud and obstruction of justice charges.
In 2016, Savannah was named Miss Tennessee Teen USA, but has been best known for her regular appearance on Chrisley Knows Best.
Since her parents were incarcerated, she became guardian of her younger siblings, Chloe and Grayson, and followed in her father’s footsteps by starting her own real estate company. During that time, she has appeared on The Masked Singer in 2024, but, perhaps more importantly, she also became a senior fellow of the CPAC’s Nolan Center For Justice.
This role as a senior fellow with CPAC put her in close contact with politicians, including Trump and his administration, with Savannah speaking at the 2024 Republican National Convention and serving as a panelist at CPAC 2025.
On May 27, President Donald Trump was joined in the Oval Office by his “pardon czar,” Alice Marie Johnson, who was famously pardoned by Trump with help from Kim Kardashian in 2019 after serving 21 years in prison for cocaine trafficking.
Together, they made a call to Savannah and Chase Chrisley to inform them that their parents were receiving full pardons.

Making The New Show
“I think growing up on TV from such a young age, I was always told what to do, how to act,” Savannah told People of Chrisley Knows Best. “It didn’t matter if I was having the roughest day possible, our show was more of a comedy.”
Being unable to authentically be herself in all situations on the show, Savannah said, “Once the show ended, I was like, ‘Now is my time to finally tell my truth.’”
In keeping with that spirit, she started a podcast called Unlocked, and now the Chrisleys will be returning to television on Lifetime, documenting the path toward Todd and Julie’s freedom.
Back in February, she hinted at the presently untitled Lifetime show, telling People, “They want it on air [on] August 11th, which, ironically, is my birthday. So, we’ll see … they’re working on schedules now, and they want to start shooting.”
As of May 21, it has now been announced that the show is being produced by Bunim/Murray Productions, with both Savannah and Chase serving as executive producers.
On Wednesday, May 28, Savannah posted on social media that she is awaiting the release of her parents from prison following their full presidential pardon from Trump.
