Courtney Hadwin leaves no crumbs with her cover of “Someone You Loved” and fans are begging for a duet with Lewis Capaldi

Courtney Hadwin just blew us all away with her latest cover—this time, tackling Lewis Capaldi’s Someone You Loved.

The 15-year-old singer, who first made waves on America’s Got Talent two years ago, put her own raw and emotional spin on the chart-topping ballad. Trading the big stage for a tiny, intimate room, Courtney proved once again that she doesn’t need flashy production to deliver a powerful vocal performance.

And now? Fans are begging for a Lewis x Courtney duet—and it sounds like she’s totally on board.

Watch her cover below.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk about the cover, Courtney said: “Lewis is such a talented writer and has an amazing voice that immediately drags you in! He’s got a super great personality too, which is a bonus.”

When asked if she’d say yes to a collaboration, she joked: “If the phone rang tomorrow and he asked me, I’d tell him I needed some time to think about it.”

Then she laughed and added, “Of course, I’d love to work with him!”

We need this collab to happen ASAP. Over to you, Lewis…

From AGT to Modern Ballads

Courtney first caught national attention on America’s Got Talent, where she delivered unforgettable renditions of classics like Otis Redding’s Hard to Handle—a performance that has since racked up over 55 million views.

But why switch from vintage soul to a modern hit?

“Up until now, people had only heard me sing old classics,” Courtney explained. “This was a chance for me to show I can still make newer songs my own.”

She said Someone You Loved instantly clicked with her: “From the first time I heard it, I knew I had to sing it. The timing also worked out—his songs are everywhere right now. Whether you’re in the car or walking through a shopping centre, they’re always playing.”

Looking Ahead: A New Album on the Way

Even though Courtney nailed the emotional weight of Capaldi’s ballad, she says her upcoming original music will show a very different side of her.

“We’re early in the recording process, but so far the songs are a lot happier and have a more upbeat vibe than this one,” she shared. “Although I’m sure I’ll include a ballad too.”

What matters most to Courtney is being true to herself.

“The biggest thing about my music is that I want people to hear my voice and instantly know it’s me. You turn on the radio now and so much of it sounds the same. I don’t want to be the next pop princess. I want to stand out.”

She added, “Right now, I’m in the studio writing and recording all the time, just trying to find the right songs. I don’t want to put out anything unless it feels like me. I need to be able to connect to it.”

As for when fans can expect new music?

“I’m hoping for a release at the top of next year—or maybe even sooner. I just recorded a few songs in London, and I can already tell they’re going to be amazing.”

We’re ready when you are, Courtney.
