Inside the alleged love triangle between Riley Green, Ella Langley and Megan Moroney
As country stars Ella Langley and Megan Moroney are both nominated for the 2025 ACM Awards, fans have been diving into their alleged love triangle drama.

As both young, talented country stars have been thrown into the public eye, fans have been speculating whether or not the two have been entangled with one of the hottest country singers of the year – Riley Green. From unfollowing on social media to pointed song lyrics, fans have been drawing connections among the trio left and right.

Ella and Riley were at the center of dating rumors after releasing their love song ‘You Look Like You Love Me’ and ‘Don’t Mind If I do.’ After sparks flew during their powerful duets on-stage during Riley’s Damn Country Music tour, fans were convinced their chemistry was too undeniable for them to be just friends.

Despite these rumors, Ella assured that they are just pals. In an red carpet interview with Taste of Country, the 26-year-old said: “We’re not dating. We’re just good friends. Riley was probably the first famous person I ever met. He was playing all the same bars I went to and I played the same bars as him. It’s cool to see Alabama people winning.”

During a guest appearance on Nick Niall’s relationship podcast The Viall Files, Riley also shot down romance rumors between him and Ella. The 36-year-old singer joked: “Yeah, I mean, Ella’s probably too smart to date me anyway.”
Riley went on to add: “When we first started having the success that we did with that song [You Look Like You Love Me], I told Ella, I was like, ‘There’s gonna be a lot of things said, but we don’t really got to play into it or not play into it.”

While this seemed to be the case, fans were quick to notice that Ella unfollowed country star Megan Moroney on Instagram after she was romantically tied to Riley. Megan and Riley were believed to be involved after the pair were spotted on the small island of St. Barts. And while fans speculated that they had jetted off to a tropical vacation together, the pair later addressed the rumors claiming that it was merely a coincidence that their trips aligned.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Megan explained: “He [Riley Green] was individually on his vacation with his friends. St. Barts is a popular place!” When asked if they spent time together on the island, the blonde beauty explained: “It’s one of those things where if you know someone on a small island, you’re like, ‘Oh, s–t, you’re here too.’ So it was fun.”

When directly asked if she and Riley were dating, Megan said: “Just because we’re hanging out doesn’t mean we’re romantically dating. You know what I mean?” And responding to her fans being nosey about her love life, Megan joked: “I don’t blame them for doing some FBI research.”
And that’s exactly what they’ve done. In a newly posted Reddit thread, fans shared their speculation over the “love triangle.” One user wrote: “Kk, so we know that Megan wore Riley’s hat last weekend, the comment from Carl on her Instagram. But most recently someone observed that Ella doesn’t follow Megan anymore, and Megan has posted a few passive aggressive stories/posts since last weekend. Most recently this story, which is a lyric from her song ‘I’m not pretty.’ What does everyone speculate is going on here!”

In this, the user was referring to the fact that Megan posted a lyric from her song ‘I’m Not Pretty’ onto her Instagram Story which included the line: “I bet one of his friends let my name slip again.”
Responding to this speculation, another fan replied: “Maybe she’s realizing how Riley is lol and I think Ella is just annoyed with Megan and Riley.” While someone else added in part: “I feel like Ella seems like a very no bs person and just wants to focus on being an artist so perhaps just doesn’t to be roped into the Nashville romance drama.”
While someone else shared their two cents about Riley and Ella’s alleged romantic connection: “Can I just say drama aside this is a terrible match and I don’t see any benefits outside of the now publicity that will later become a hate filled entire album about Riley doing her wrong. If I was his team I’d tell him to stay the f away from female songwriters and singers!”

Another pulled Morgan Wallen into the drama as they added: “I personally think he’s taking a page out of the Morgan Wallen playbook with Megan Moroney. Look what the hype did for both of their careers, now Riley has people talking by hanging out with her. His PR team is having a field day with this build up! Let’s face it, Riley is the hot face/body of country music right now. Kind of the Tim McGraw of this era. He’s talented, but not a great performer, so his looks are what he is building on. So, while I believe he and Megan are talking, I don’t believe he’s in it for the right reasons.”
Whether or not there’s any truth to the romance rumors, all three country singers will be under the same roof during the upcoming 2025 ACM Awards on Thursday, May 8. This year Megan has been nominated in the Album of the Year category for her smash hit ‘Am I Okay? (I’ll Be Fine)’ and Female Artist of the Year.

As for Ella, she is leading in nominations as she has been recognized in the Female Artist of the Year and New Female Artist of the Year categories as well as six additional nods for her song You Look Like You Love Me. Riley will also be taking the stage as he has been announced as a presenter for the ceremony.
