Aussie Choir Director Astrid Jorgensen Goes Viral For Feelgood 2025 AGT Audition Featuring Epic Three Part Harmony Sing Along From The Crowd, But It Descends Into Drama As Judges Start Fighting Over The Audition!

This was one unforgettable America’s Got Talent audition! Aussie choir director Astrid Jorgensen came all the way to the US to turn the AGT crowd into one giant choir on her June 18, 2025, audition! She had the crowd singing in three-part harmony without any rehearsal on Toto’s hit “Africa,” scoring a viral vid in the process. Jorgensen has a bubbly vibe that quickly got the crowd onside. They weren’t shy and got stuck into singing the lyrics that she’d split into three parts, complete with karaoke-style lyrics.

Jorgensen also soon had the crowd on their feet and clapping perfectly to the beat. Seeing the crowd perform together as one on the ‘82 hit created such a warm and feel-good vibe, which was reflected by the big smiles that the crowd and all the judges wore. The Music Man has to give it up to the 34-year-old choir director, not only for having the brilliant idea in the first place, but also for having the fun and positive energy to instantly get the crowd onboard for the performance!

Jorgensen’s audition proved to be one of the most popular performances from America’s Got Talent in 2025, as it drew 1.5 million views within four days on YouTube. Fans watching at home really enjoyed Jorgensen’s unique audition and added comments such as “Bro, to get an entire audience to harmonize in less than 30 seconds without rehearsing at all, that’s TALENT! They were all spot on too” and “Honestly, goosebumps. Nothing more powerful than a crowd singing together.”

Jorgensen’s America’s Got Talent audition is not the first time the Aussie musician has gone viral. She runs a YouTube channel called Pub Choir, which has produced several popular videos based around spontaneous choir arrangements on hit songs. Jorgensen’s most popular Pub Choir video is a 4.6 million view upload that features her leading 1500 people in three-part harmony on the Backstreet Boys’ classic “I Want It That Way”. Now that’s a song that was just made for the Pub Choir treatment!

Jorgensen’s audition was such a hit with the America’s Got Talent crowd that it took quite some time for the applause to die down before the judges could comment. The Music Man readers might be surprised to hear that Mel B and Sofía Vergara were not fans of Jorgensen’s act, though. Vergara felt that her act might be difficult to repeat and get the same impact in later rounds, while Mel B noted that to her it felt more like the audience’s performance than Jorgensen’s own audition. However, Simon Cowell yet again showed his impeccable judgment for talent by saying that he strongly disagreed with their criticism. He said, “To have the capacity to do that within seconds, and actually allow the audience to win the show, was brilliant.” Jorgensen eventually got three yes votes from the judges, with Vergara allowing Cowell and the audience’s support to sway her, while Mel B was the sole holdout and stuck to her no vote
